Sensors come in two basic configurations: handheld for portable applications and remote for stationary or on-line inspection systems. While all of the sensors will work with the latest controllers, some will interface to your PC. The measurement requirements of an application determine which model should be used with a controller.
DSP sensors are handheld models with integral processors that can run autonomously. They can also be connected to a PC via a USB cable for configuration and setup plus some added capabilities.
USB sensors have ultra-fast, high-resolution scanning capabilities but must be connected to a PC for the processing of the profiles. They will work with any Windows-based desktop, notebook or tablet PC that has a USB 2.0 port.
These sensors must be used with one of the proprietary LaserGauge® controllers. The sensors come in a wide range of designs with capabilities optimized for certain applications and requirements.
